Havurah

Why are we here?

Aviva: I'm Jewish and I'm living it here, never really was embracing that before.
Melissa: Fellowship and accountability here is great.
Dan: "Where else am I gonna go?" I knew I needed Messianic Judaism, and this is physically so close as well.
Danielle: "I'm picky." Here the worship and teaching are solid, and I appreciate the Old Testament roots.
Johannah: The teaching and the worship. John 13:33-35 seems to be lived here.
Beth: "God made me" come here. The teaching, worship, and fellowship are all great here.
Kelly: This fills in a lot of holes and questions I had before. There is fulfillment of that, along with accountability, support, and family here.
Christopher: I feel like I'm getting the "why" of what I believe here. And I'm part of a whole.
Jonathan: It's largely a matter of calling. God wants us each here and has a purpose for the group and for us as individuals.
Greg: Habakkuk 2:2 is part of what we are doing. Community, support, accountability. This is "where everybody else wants you to grow toward God."
Caitlyn: This is "A reservoir of Nice and Normal in a Nasty and Twisted world."
Ken: This is the "semi-youth arm" of the calling of CBY. Each of us has a work to do, a job within the group, and we are all getting vision for our own lives through the visions of one another.
Juan: Again, calling. "This is my place," where I am grounded. Of it, he says, "You know that you know."
Martin: I grew up here. Also, a sort of Ruth calling... and like in 2 Samuel 15:19-21. I'm here to serve in any way that I can.
Rosa: This also provides inroads for new people, a way to connect and a "safe landing" for people coming in.
Alanna: Calling, even when you run from it. Also, see Ken and Greg re: how we build one another up and work together as parts of the whole. We are all so different, it's definitely God.
Dave: Because I don't want to be anywere else. G-d has put me there, even though I'm not around as much as I would like to be. I stay because there is no where else that I'd rather be than being where G-d is.
Erin: I am here because my parents wanted to discover more about the Jewish roots of our faith. I came with them (8 years ago) and soon started to realize that God brought ME here, as I noticed questions inside of me being answered and felt truly at home. I stay because I sense the Lord’s presence and truth in my deepest parts- the teaching, worship, and community are so solid.
Jason: I’m here because of my family. They raised me to be open to things like the Messianic vision and the college age activities. I’m staying because I love Messianic Judaism.
Eric: Beth Yeshua is my home congregation because it is the first place that I ever walked into where I truly felt welcome. The worship, traditions, and the feeling of belonging are just right there and so real. The teaching is very strong and solid. Beth Yeshua is where I belong.
Hope: "It makes sense." Challenging us to delve more into the Jewishness of it all and keep growing, it's good that it's comfortable but not to get too comfortable. Isaiah 44:1-5, 56:3, 6-8; Deuteronomy 30:1-6, Isaiah 11 and 12, 2 Peter 2 (though I'm not sure exactly where in 2 Peter you were talking about).
